At AGL Host, all our web servers consist of Dell PowerEdge servers. We dont use converted desktops or shuttle PC’s. Our imail email servers we build ourselves, only using high quality hardware; Hyper PSU’s, Corsair Ram, Intel dual core CPU’s.

… but even if you have high quality hardware, it is always crucial to constantly monitor server load. If a server becomes overloaded this can result in your website running slowly and tripping over. At AGL Host, we constantly monitor all servers to ensure that overloading does not occur.  At the time of writing this blog post i made a quick query on our two most heavily used servers. The web server (marvin) was at 18% CPU load and 34% ram usage  - this is at peak traffic time. This means that all customers on our servers will be guaranteed a fast reliable service.

The second server queried was our main imail server (apache). CPU load was at 15% with ram usage of 24%.
