A private IP – Good For SEO?

You may spend a huge amount of time developing a great looking website, however if people cant find your website there is little point having it. A good search engine ranking is key. However it always seems a bit of a dark art of how to increase your search engine ranking.

Did you know, the IP address of the server which your website sits on can also affect your search engine ranking. With shared web hosting, several websites from different customers will sit on each server, all using the same IP address. This can have a negative affect on your search engine ranking. If another website on the server ends up getting banned by google, because they have the same IP address as you, this could have a negative affect on your search engine ranking. So no matter have much SEO work you are doing, it could end up a uphill struggle.

At AGL Host Web Hosting. We have been working on a solution to this. We want to be able to offer all our web hosting customers the best possible chance at achieving a high search engine ranking. Therefore to counter this problem, we can now offer all our web hosting clients a private IP address. This IP address will be unique to your website, so no matter what other people on your server are getting up to, you will have a better chance at securing a higher ranking with the likes of google etc.

We can offer a private IP address for all shared web hosting clients for only £4.99 a month. If you would like to upgrade your plan to this, please open a support ticket. Alternatively, give us a call at our Northamptonshire office on: 01327 352124 (phone lines open from 9AM to 5.30PM)
